　　我翻譯的那段〈Bad Romance〉原詞如下：

I want your ugly
I want your disease

As long as it's free

第四行要說明一下，其他都很好翻。"As long as it's free"，我的直譯是「只要那是出於自由（的意志）」，但這樣寫很不順眼，所以我循其意，改寫為「只要你心甘情願」，下句再補一個「就」字翻「我就要你的愛」。「我要你的醜怪／我要你的病態／我要你的所有／只要你心甘情願／我就要你的愛」，是否允當，歡迎討論。

此曲官方譯名〈羅曼死〉，只是在字面上耍花槍；我改譯「孽緣」，以「孽」字翻bad，當更合乎本意。《說文解字》段玉裁注:「凡木萌旁出皆曰蘖，人之支子曰孽，其義略同。」孽字本有蔓生瘋長、旁行斜出之意，先天屬性就是不會被主流接納的邊緣，後又被用以形容罪惡，如冤孽、妖孽，成為大家現在習慣的意思。而卡卡橫空出世，開宗明義就以妖孽自居，歌中大用bad, ugly, disease,horror, crazy, bitch, freak等負面字眼而以之為榮，這種意念的翻轉是西洋流行樂行之有年的nasty路數，Michael Jackson和瑪丹娜都曾從中取勝，充份調動了觀眾解放個性的欲念，卡卡亦能如此，且有功夫、學問在其中。

打個比方：我嘗論「情色文學」和「色情小說」的分別，說「情色」是探討情欲與人性那些事的，「色情」就只是給人手淫意淫的。女神卡卡之於流行時尚，也是「情色」的境界；許多只賣弄性感，而旋生旋滅、徒留笑柄的美國俗濫流行樂，就止是「色情」。雖然都刺激感官，但深度明顯有差。

以此解讀〈孽緣〉全曲，就很好懂。它不只是故作驚人語來挑逗，但也沒有很深刻複雜的思想，而就是在欲望的海洋中隨波弄潮，比〈上海灘〉歌詞「仍願翻百千浪／在我心中起伏夠」更進一步，要世界一起跟她起伏。
